The Kedah International Photography Awards (KIPA) themed 'Capture the character and beauty that is Kedah' has been established to enable professional and amateur photographers to showcase to the world their skill and ability to capture the character and beauty that is Kedah (Malaysia); from her mountains, lakes and rivers, marine parks, ancient ruins, beaches, her diverse people and their cultures to the iconic rice fields or just discover something new. Show us how the people of Kedah have made a difference to the world and taken their place in the global community.

There are six categories:

• Professional (Competitive)
• Professional (Exhibition A – non-competitive)
• Professional (Exhibition B – non-competitive)
• Amateur / Student
• Lomo / Polaroid Camera
• Smartphone

You may enter either one of the categories. You can enter up to 3 photographs per entry. If you wish to enter more photographs, you can submit a new entry form. Note that the photographs will be judged as single images. Single images are individual, stand-alone photographs. If your photograph(s) is shortlisted, you will need to supply high quality JPEG images.

There are different entry fees: from 30 MYR (approx. 9 USD) to 1,000 MYR (approx. 315 USD). No entry fee for Smartphone category.

Early Bird Promotion: you can submit five photographs for the price of one entry until 15 November 2013.

Eligibility

KIPA is an open award for both Malaysian and international participation.

Prize

RM7,500 (approx. 2,300 USD) worth of cash and prizes to the Grand Winner.
