The International Contest for New Comic Authors 2024, organized as part of the 21st Treviso Comic Book Festival (TCBF), provides a unique platform for emerging comic creators to showcase their talents on a global stage. This competition invites beginner comic authors from around the world to submit original comic stories inspired by the contest’s chosen theme for this year, "Soft." Participants are encouraged to explore the theme with complete artistic freedom, using any drawing techniques and coloring styles they prefer. The contest is open to both individual creators and groups, offering an inclusive environment where new talents can thrive and experiment with their creative ideas.
Designed to support and promote the next generation of comic book artists, the International Contest for New Comic Authors 2024 places a special emphasis on originality and creativity. All submitted works must be entirely unpublished and adhere to the competition’s theme. Whether rendered in black and white or full color, entries are expected to reflect the individual or collective artistic vision of the creators, demonstrating their storytelling ability through visual art. The competition not only celebrates artistic expression but also nurtures the growth of beginner comic artists by providing them with the opportunity to gain visibility in the highly competitive world of comic books.
This year’s competition, held in collaboration with Banca Prealpi San Biagio Credito Cooperativo, will reward the top three winning submissions with cash prizes and the opportunity to be featured on TCBF’s social media platforms. Winners will be recognized during the prestigious Carlo Boscarato Award ceremony on September 29th, 2024, further enhancing their exposure and credibility in the comic book industry. With no entry fee required, the contest remains an accessible and exciting opportunity for aspiring comic book creators to take their first steps towards professional recognition and success.
