The 2027 Fumetto International Comic Competition is the annual comic competition organized by Fumetto Comic Festival Lucerne in Switzerland. The 2027 edition is built around the theme “Blubb,” an onomatopoeic prompt intended to encourage imaginative approaches to visual storytelling.

Entrants are invited to create comics interpreting “Blubb” freely, with suggested associations ranging from schools of fish and air bubbles to real-estate bubbles, deep-sea adventures and melting glaciers. Each participant may submit one comic of up to four pages in A4 or A3 format, with both analogue and digital approaches accepted according to published information about the 2027 call.

Fumetto plans to select a shortlist of 45 works for presentation in original form during the Fumetto Comic Festival Lucerne, which runs from March 6 to March 14, 2027. The competition exhibition is scheduled for the Glacier Garden Lucerne, placing the selected comics within the historic exhibition setting of the Swiss House.

Entry fee: No entry fee is reported for the 2027 competition, but the current-year official fee terms could not be verified from an accessible official competition page.
