The International Compost Awareness Week 2027 Poster Contest is an annual global design competition organized through the Compost Research & Education Foundation’s International Compost Awareness Week initiative. The contest invites participants to create an original poster promoting the importance of composting and compost use as part of the 2027 ICAW campaign.
The 2027 theme is “All Paths Lead to Compost,” inspired by United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure. Poster concepts should focus on the benefits of compost, support the theme’s connection to sustainable industry and infrastructure, and demonstrate how organic materials contribute to healthy soils and wider environmental conservation.
Designs must present the required ICAW wording clearly while communicating the annual message to multiple audiences through creative, attractive and original visual communication. The contest gives designers an opportunity to apply their skills to an international environmental awareness campaign centered on composting, soil health and sustainable resource use.
Entry fee: Free to enter; no entry fee is required for the single poster submission.
Eligibility
Open to artists worldwide aged 14 and older, with one original poster permitted per person; AI-generated elements are prohibited, copyrighted or trademarked products, packaging, brand names and advertisements may not be used, and photographs must be the entrant’s own or legally authorized, with signed releases required for photographed people.
Prize
One winner will receive a $500 prize, and the winning poster will be reproduced and distributed nationally as part of the International Compost Awareness Week 2027 campaign.
