The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and the Typographische Gesellschaft München call for entries for Granshan 2013: 6th International Competition for Non-Latin Typefaces.
Small type foundries, global corporations and leading universities have all uncovered a secret: promoting non-Latin typefaces opens up both enormous economic potential and fantastic design opportunities. The Granshan competition has built up its expertise in exactly this area.
You can submit your type designs to the following categories:
• Armenian text typefaces
• Arabic text typefaces
• China text typefaces
• Cyrillic text typefaces
• Greek text typefaces
• Indic text typefaces
• Display typefaces
Eligible are all typefaces that have been designed or digitized after 2011 and meet the competition requirements. All submitted fonts must comply with and use the Unicode encoding system. Submissions can be single fonts or type families.
Entry fee: 20 Euro (approx. 26,50 USD)

All type designers from all parts of the world are invited to take part in the competition
Prize
In each of the seven categories up to three certificates will be awarded, and a jury of international experts will award the Grand Prize Granshan 2013, including prize money of 1,000 Euro (approx. 1,300 USD).
Moreover, printed examples of the winning entries will be published in a documentation designed by tgm.
The winners will be announced at a press conference held by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia in Yerevan in the month of November.
