The Animayo Gran Canaria 2027 International Poster Contest is inviting designers and artists to create the official poster for the 22nd edition of Animayo, the Summit and International Film Festival of Animation, Visual Effects and Video Games, taking place in Gran Canaria from 5 to 8 May 2027. The brief asks entrants to explore the world of ideas and creativity through inspiration, fantasy and technology.
Each poster must work as two distinct compositions: a vertical 50 × 70 cm version and a horizontal 100 × 50 cm version, both at 300 dpi. The design must include “Animayo Gran Canaria 2027” together with “22ª Summit and International Film Festival of Animation, Visual Effects and Video Games”. Dates and venues should not appear in the artwork, and the bottom 15% of each format must remain clear for sponsor and institutional logos.
Entries are registered through the Animayo website, followed by email delivery of both poster versions as JPG or PDF files in RGB, together with a design explanation of at least five lines. At least 15 works will be preselected. Their creators will then have five calendar days to provide editable source files and a large-format adaptation before the finalists are announced.
Entry fee: Free to enter; there is no registration or submission fee.
Eligibility
Open to individuals or groups of up to five people of any nationality or residence, aged 16 or over, submitting original, unpublished work that has not won another competition or been entered in a previous Animayo poster contest; entrants may submit up to five designs, generative AI is prohibited, 16- and 17-year-old authors must be entered by a parent or legal guardian, and the organiser's employees and linked companies, their relatives up to the second degree, and members of this edition's jury or selection committee are excluded.
Prize
The winning work receives €500 gross and becomes the official image of Animayo Gran Canaria 2027. The organiser may also award one discretionary runner-up prize of €250 gross. The winner and any runner-up receive a free certificate and promotion through the festival website, social channels and press materials, while finalist works may also be included in the festival exhibition.
