Each year, the Space Foundation International Student Art Contest invites pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students from around the world to submit original artwork based on a space-oriented theme.

The 2015 contest theme, The View From My Spaceship..., challenges students to design their own concept of a view looking into space from a spaceship - and then interpret that idea into an original work of visual art.

    Acceptable artwork media/format:

    Mixed Media
    Digital Art

    Eight Age Categories:

    • 3-4 years
    • 5-6 years
    • 7-8 years

    • 11-12 years
    • 13-14 years
    • 15-16 years
    • 17-18 years

Although there are no any specific size requirements since submission is digital, the ideal size for entries should be no smaller than 11” x 17” and no larger than 18”x 24”. Limit of one entry per student.

    There is no entry fee.

Public, private and homeschool students are eligible from all nations. A teacher/instructor/homeschool teacher must submit artwork on behalf of their student.

The Space Foundation will give a total of 25 awards to 24 Winners: 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place for each of eight age categories will receive a prize, ribbon and a certificate. In addition, the Space Foundation will confer a Space Foundation Achievement Award, which will be selected by the Space Foundation graphic arts team from among all the winners.

Winning artwork will be displayed and viewed by space professionals from around the world at the 31th Space Symposium, April 13-16, 2015, at The Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado Springs, and at other venues throughout the year.
