The 28th annual National Geographic Travel Photo Contest is now accepting submissions. Harness the power of photography and share your stunning travel experiences from around the globe.
Submit in any of the following categories:
• Nature
• Cities
• People
There is no limit on the number of entries per person. Photographs must be in digital format. Only online entries will be eligible. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies or photographic prints are acceptable. All digital files must be 20 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or .jpg format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).
Photographs must have been taken within two years before the date of entry and may not previously have won an award in any National Geographic photo contests. Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas are not acceptable.
There is an entry fee of 15 USD per entry.
Eligibility
Open worldwide to individuals who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry.
Prize
The Grand Prize Winner will be named the 2016 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year and will have a chance to go on an 7-day Polar Bear Safari for Two at Churchill Wild-Seal River Heritage Lodge, a Nat Geo Unique Lodge of the World with airfare for two.
Moreover, each category will feature three winners:
• First Prize: A Sony a6300 camera furnished by B&H Photo and Video
• Second Prize: The Art of Travel Photography on DVD
• Third Prize: A National Geographic book, Destinations of a Lifetime
All winners will also receive a one-year subscription to National Geographic Traveler magazine.
