The Kuala Lumpur International Photo Awards is an annual global portrait photography competition. Now in its 15th year, it seeks fresh and innovative photography from new, emerging and established photographers from around the world.

This year’s theme is Portraits of Intimacy. The theme is open to interpretation and in the main genres for eg. documentary, conceptual, fine art, photojournalistic. Photographers may submit up to 10 single images per entry. Multiple entries are allowed.

All photographs must have been taken between 2022 and 2023 or part of an on-going project. Basic darkroom techniques are permitted. Photographs can be Black and White or Colour, in any format.

The Photographer retains the copyright of all submitted images at all times.

Entry fees start at 15 USD per image.

Eligibility

Open worldwide to amateur and professional photographers. Entrants must be 16 years or over.

• 1st Prize: 2,000 USD
• 2nd Prize: 1,000 USD
• 3rd Prize: 500 USD
• 4 prizes: 250 USD each
