The KBr Photo Award 2025, presented biennially by Fundación MAPFRE through its renowned KBr Photography Center in Barcelona, invites established and emerging photographers worldwide to submit compelling proposals for documentary-style photography projects. The winning project, carefully chosen by a distinguished international jury composed of curators, photography experts, and cultural leaders, will receive substantial support, including a generous financial prize and significant public exposure. The KBr Photo Award winner gains the opportunity to showcase their completed work through high-profile solo exhibitions at the esteemed KBr Photography Center in Barcelona and Fundación MAPFRE’s gallery in Madrid. There is no entry fee.
Eligibility
Open to photographers of any nationality aged 18 +, with at least one solo exhibition or publication, submitting previously unpublished work not entered elsewhere.
Prize
The winner receives a €25,000 cash award to develop the project within ten months, plus mentoring; their work will be showcased in solo exhibitions at KBr Barcelona and Fundación MAPFRE Madrid and accompanied by a published catalogue.
