The Environmental Photography Award 2024 is a prestigious global competition organized in collaboration with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, a prominent advocate for environmental conservation. Now in its fourth year, this annual contest serves as a remarkable platform for photographers worldwide to engage with urgent environmental issues. By participating in this competition, photographers can contribute to raising awareness about the intricate relationship between humanity and the natural world, highlighting the crucial connection between human health and the well-being of our planet.
Open to photographers of all nationalities, aged 18 or above by November 5th, 2023, this award invites creative individuals to explore five distinct categories: Polar Wonders, Ocean Worlds, Into the Forest, Humanity Versus Nature, and Change Makers: Reasons for Hope. Each participant has the opportunity to submit up to five images in each of the five categories, allowing for a maximum of 25 images. With a substantial prize fund of €11,000, the competition not only recognizes artistic excellence but also serves as a powerful catalyst for generating awareness and advocacy for environmental preservation.
Winners and selected entrants will enjoy global recognition through a high-quality photography book and extensive promotion on global press and social media platforms by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and its partners. Furthermore, the grand prize includes a 5,000 € grant and an exclusive invitation to explore the Amazon Research Station of the University of Ecuador, an unparalleled opportunity to document the heart of the Ecuadorian jungle. Eligibility
The award is open to photographers of all nationalities aged 18 or over on 5th November 2023.
Prize
The Grand Prize Winner will receive a 5,000 € grant, an invitation to visit the Amazon Research Station of the University of Ecuador with travel and accommodation included, and an invitation to the 2024 award exhibition inauguration in Monaco. Category Winners in each of the 5 categories will receive a 1,000 € grant. There’s also a Public Vote prize of 500 € and a Students’ Choice prize of 500 €. Thirty-six photographs chosen by the jury will be featured in an international touring exhibition and in a photography book. The total prize fund is €11,000, and the Environmental Photographer of the Year 2024 will be chosen from the category winners by the jury and announced at the exhibition in June 2024.
