The Communication Arts 2027 Photography Competition is an international call organized by Communication Arts, which has recognized photographic craft for 68 years. The annual competition invites contemporary photography and photography-led motion work across commercial, editorial, institutional, personal and student contexts.
Submission categories include Advertising, Books, Editorial, For Sale, Institutional, Motion/Cinematography, Self-Promotion, Unpublished and Student Work. Entrants may submit individual photographs, cohesive photographic series or eligible time-based projects in which photography is the primary element.
Entries are evaluated by an international jury of creative directors and photographers. The competition gives photographers a focused opportunity to present their work within a professionally judged programme covering both commissioned and self-initiated photography.
Entry fee: $40 per single photograph and $80 per photographic series of up to five in Advertising, Books, Editorial, For Sale, Institutional, Self-Promotion and Unpublished; $90 per single motion/cinematography piece and $180 per series of up to three; Student Work is $20 per single JPG, $40 per JPG series of up to five, $45 per single video and $90 per video series of up to three; entries after March 12, 2027 incur an additional $10 per entry.
