The 20th iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) 2027 marks two decades of a competition dedicated to photography created with Apple mobile devices. Established in 2007, IPPAWARDS invites photographers from around the world to submit their strongest iPhone and iPad images.
The 2027 competition features 12 categories: Abstract, Animals, Architecture, Children, Citylife/Cityscape, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, People, Portrait, Series and Other. The awards are open to both amateur and professional photographers and celebrate originality, artistic merit, subject and style.
IPPAWARDS attracts entries from more than 140 countries and selects Photographer of the Year and category winners through a jury process. Entries may also be considered for Masters by IPPAWARDS, an invitation-only fine-art platform showcasing selected photographers from the annual competition.
Entry fee: US$9.50 for 1 entry; US$15.50 for 3 entries; US$25.50 for 5; US$55.50 for 10; US$65.50 for 15; US$75.50 for 20; US$95.50 for 25; or US$150.50 for 50 entries, with each paid submission slot covering one photograph.
Eligibility
Open to amateur and professional photographers worldwide using an iPhone or iPad; photographs must be the entrant’s original work, must not have been previously published except on personal social-media accounts, and should not be altered using desktop image-processing software, although iOS editing apps and iPhone add-on lenses are permitted.
Prize
Four photographers will receive the IPPAWARDS Photographer of the Year distinctions of Grand Prix, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, with prizes for the top three winners to be announced later. The 1st-place winner in each of the 12 categories will receive a Gold Bar, while 2nd- and 3rd-place category winners will receive a Platinum Bar, subject to market availability or replacement with a prize of comparable monetary value. All 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-place category winners also receive an IPPAWARDS certificate, and the judges may award Honorable Mentions. All entries are eligible for possible selection for Masters by IPPAWARDS.
