The 2024 Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest is a prestigious event that spotlights emerging talent in photojournalism. Organized annually by the Rossiya Segodnya media group, this contest is dedicated to the memory of Andrei Stenin, a Russian photojournalist who tragically lost his life while on assignment. The competition is designed to discover, recognize, and foster young photographers aged 18 to 33, offering them a distinguished platform to showcase their work on a global stage.

This contest is unique in its commitment to supporting young photographers who capture compelling, newsworthy stories through their lenses. It emphasizes the importance of photojournalism in documenting social, political, and cultural events, and in shaping public discourse. The contest’s categories, including Top News, Sports, My Planet, and Portrait, encourage participants to explore diverse themes and subjects. These categories reflect the multifaceted nature of photojournalism and its ability to capture the essence of our world’s dynamic and varied landscapes.

In its 10th year, the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest continues to grow in prestige and relevance. By focusing on young talent, the contest plays a critical role in bringing fresh perspectives to the forefront of visual storytelling. The inclusion of participants from various backgrounds and the emphasis on a wide range of photographic subjects make the contest a melting pot of creativity and innovation. The contest’s impact extends beyond the awards, as it fosters a community of young photographers who are passionate about capturing the truth and beauty of our world through their cameras.

    There is no entry fee.

Young photojournalists aged between 18 and 33 are eligible to participate.
