The Art Moves 2025 Billboard Art Competition is an international event held annually as a core part of the renowned Festival of Art on Billboards, set to take place in Toruń, Poland, in September 2025. This unique contest invites artists from around the globe, including professional creators, students, and art enthusiasts, to explore the expansive medium of billboard art. Participants are encouraged to express their artistic visions by responding to the provocative and timely theme: "Love or anxiety? How can we stop escaping and take responsibility for our own fate and the fate of the world?"
The competition stands out in the contemporary art scene for its commitment to public art, creatively integrating thought-provoking visual statements into everyday urban spaces. Entrants can submit up to three original artworks, with complete creative freedom regarding artistic technique, style, and interpretation. Selected pieces will be enlarged, printed, and prominently displayed on billboards, transforming the cityscape of Toruń into an open-air gallery accessible to thousands of visitors and residents, thus fostering deeper engagement and dialogue about critical social issues.
A distinguished jury composed of international artists and curators will evaluate all submissions, choosing the eight most compelling pieces for public exhibition. This opportunity not only provides a prestigious international platform for emerging and established artists alike but also enhances the visibility and impact of their artwork on a global stage. The competition seeks to inspire artists to engage critically with current global realities, promoting meaningful reflection on whether love, with its inherent creative energy, can offer a powerful alternative to anxiety in confronting the challenges of contemporary life.
