The Hermione Hammond Drawing Award is a £2,000 award for emerging artists to encourage and reward the practice of contemporary representational drawing. For 2020, the award will be given as a prize at the Annual Exhibition of the New English Art Club at Mall Galleries (London, UK) for a drawing by an emerging artist aged 35 or under. Acceptable media include pencil, pen, ink, charcoal, conte, pastels, oil pastels, sanguine, or printmaking and mixed media pieces where draughtsmanship is in evidence. The judging committee, comprised of the family of Hermione Hammond and representatives of Mall Galleries, will pick the winner from the exhibited, eligible works by artists aged between 18 and 35 at the time of submission. Work must have been completed in the last two years and must not have been previously exhibited in London. Entry fee is £18 per work (or £12 per work for artists aged 35 or under), which includes Free Admission to the exhibition (normally £5). Eligibility: Open to both International and British artists over 18 years of age. Prize: The exhibition offers several prizes and awards, open to all participating artists, including the new Chris Beetles Gallery Award of 2,000 GBP (approx. 2,600 USD) for a non-member artist.
