With the purpose of establishing a network for promoting the work of the illustrators of books for children and youth in Latin America, illustrators are called to submit entries at the 6th Ibero-American Catalog of Illustration.

By choosing a free topic and telling and shaping up a story with a consistent and uniform narrative sequence - only through images - illustrators may participate individually or as a group with a minimum of three and a maximum of five illustrations unpublished and in series. The work presented should not include any text whatsoever and the illustrations will be evaluated altogether as a set.

In the cases when the illustrations have been produced with traditional techniques, it is
necessary to send the originals; only in the cases where digital technology has been used,
quality prints are to be sent to take part in a traveling exhibition.

The images intended to participate in the catalog selection must not be sent, nor have been sent to any other competition either before or simultaneously to this one.

    There is no entry fee.

    Eligibility

This call for entries is open to illustrators for children and youth publications, who regardless of their country of residence, were born in any Latin American country.

    Prize

The jury will select a maximum of 45 illustrators; from those, a winner will be chosen and up to five honorable mentions will be awarded to the most outstanding works.

The winner will receive a cash prize of 5,000 USD and will create an original illustration for the cover of the 6th Ibero-American Catalog of Illustration.

In addition, selected illustrators will be part of the exhibition "Iberoamérica Ilustra", which will be opened as part of the 29th edition of the Guadalajara International Book Fair.
