This competition is organised by the Takeda Pharmaceutical Company with social and cultural goals in mind. The purpose of the competition is to discover the most talented students at art schools and universities as well as to draw the public’s attention to the importance of improving the diagnosis and treatment of rare illnesses and of new medical technologies. The works submitted have to represent the artist’s interpretation of that theme using any style from figurative painting to abstraction. Artists can use various styles and techniques: painted canvases, drawings, watercolours or gouache on paper, and also graphic prints. The size of the work should not exceed 1 meter on the longest side. Applications must include information about the artist (photo and brief biography), a short commentary on the works and an electronic image (1200 x 1800 pixels). There is no entry fee. Eligibility: Open worldwide to students of Art Schools and Universities. Prize: There will be seven winners, who will each receive a prize from the organisers along with a special prize from the Takeda Pharmaceutical Company. Ten contestants will be awarded a trip to Moscow on 19 May 2021. The exhibition will show the 40 best artworks that most vividly reflect the competition’s theme and show professional artistic quality.
