NordArt is one of the largest contemporary art exhibitions in Europe, which is conceived anew every year. Between June and October, paintings and sculptures, photographs and installations by more than 200 selected artists (internationally renowned as well as newcomers) from all over the world come together as a monumental piece of art. The exhibition thrives on the varying perspectives of individual cultures, but also points out the fact that East and West, South and North share many common thoughts. NordArt counts more than 100,000 visitors every summer. The exhibition grounds include the historic foundry halls of the Carlshütte with their 22,000 square metres of ground area, the charming ACO Wagenremise building and an 80,000 square metres of sculpture park. There is no entry fee. Eligibility: Artists from all over the world can apply to participate in the exhibition. Prize: The NordArt- Prize: is worth 10,000 EUR (approx. 9,749 USD). Moreover, visitors can vote for their favourite artist and the three winning artists will be invited to the prize-giving ceremony. Each award is worth 1,000 EUR.
