Now in its 19th year, the National Open Art Competition is calling for entries for the 2015 competition. This annual open competition aims to nurture creative talent from both emerging and professional artists. The following mediums are accepted: • Paintings • Drawings • Original prints • Photography • Wall hung installations • Computer generated art, e.g. iPad For young artists between 15 and 20 years there is also a special prize category (but a young artist could also win any of the prizes on offer). Art works must be new or recent (preferably in the last 3 years). Max size of Artwork: Width (183cm) x Height (183cm) x Depth (30cm) including the frame. A total of four entries may be submitted for the competition. The image submitted must be true to the artwork (try to avoid unnecessary background) and the Artist must be its author. The art work shown on the image(s) must be available, if shortlisted, for judging at Chichester on the 1 September 2015 and for the exhibition(s). Approximately 100 works will be selected for exhibitions in London and Chichester in Autumn 2015. The entry fee is £20 to register and submit one work. Eligibility: This competition is open to all artists and photographers living, or professionally based, in the United Kingdom. No entries will be accepted from any artist under the age of 15 at 1st September 2015. Prize: • Towry Award: £10,000 (approx. 15,000 USD) • Ward Thomas Award: £3,000 • Seaward Award: £2,000 • Southwood Award: £1,000 Moreover, up to nine Regional Prize: s of £1,000 will also be awarded.
