    The Young Illustrator Awards 2012 aims to promote the love of doodling and drawing among young children and teenagers. It provides a platform for young artists to showcase their talents to a wide audience and also encourages networking among art lovers through a buzzing online community.

    There are two categories:

    • Dr. Doodle (Primary School Category)
    • Manga Master (Secondary School Category)

    Participants are to submit entries online and winners will be selected based on judges decision (70%) and online voting (30%). Images must be a maximum file size of 2.0MB and not larger than 1280 pixels in width. There is no limit to the number of entries that each participant can submit.

    There is no entry fee.

    Eligibility


    These awards are open to all students in Singapore attending primary and secondary schools.

    Prize


    The winner in the Dr. Doodle category will receive $200, a Corel Painter 12 software package and a trophy. The five MERIT Awardees in this category will each receive $50, a Comic Studio Debut OEM software package and a trophy.

    The top 20 participants of the Manga Master category will have the opportunity to attend a series of Master-Classes in September 2012. They will be split in two groups. Each group will be mentored by a renowned comic artist.

    Selected works from both categories will be showcased in an exhibition in December 2012.
