Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards 2013
The Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards is a global, online competition that encourages youth to creatively express their vision for driving positive change in local communities. It’s an extension of Adobe Foundation’s philanthropic commitment and its global signature program, Adobe Youth Voices, which aims to ignite creative confidence in youth around the world by empowering them to find their voice and make it heard.
Now in its second year, the Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards invites youth to explore issues that are important to them, and to present potential solutions through photo essays, music videos, and other forms of visual storytelling.
The competition offers eight standard content categories:
• Music Video
• Graphic Design
• Digital Photography
A ninth category – the Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards UNICEF Challenge – invites entrants to develop a video proposal for a project they would like to launch in their local community.
Youth participants team up with adult educators and submit original, high-quality content for online viewing and voting. Finalist entries are judged by a diverse panel of professionals working in art, film, and other creative fields, and also by the general public through social media engagement.
Please note, the deadline to submit content produced from 2010-2012 is February 22, 2013. For content produced in 2013, including all Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards UNICEF Challenge entries, the submission deadline is April 19, 2013.
There is no entry fee.
Youth ages 13-19 are eligible to participate by teaming up with adult educators who are from any school or youth organization worldwide. Educators can work in formal or informal educational settings (classroom, youth center, NGO, etc).
U.S. export regulations prohibit the export of goods and services to Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria. Therefore residents of these countries/regions are not eligible to participate.
Winning projects receive software, hardware, opportunities to advance creative ideas toward implementation, and other prizes. Additionally, their entries are featured at distinguished exhibitions, including international film festivals and other arts organization events.
Prizes will be awarded to youth artist(s), as well as the school/organization where the project was produced. Winning media content will receive broad recognition and exposure through wide multi-platform distribution of their work, including online, print magazine, film festivals, and DVD.
On August 16, 2013 during the Adobe Youth Voices Summit, a special live ceremony will be hosted in San Jose, California to celebrate the winners of the Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards.
